Permit:
Location 01 — Fannie Davis Town Lake Gazebo
Cityscape and/or Gazebo in background; plenty of space on dirt or in the round about. May need to close a small chunk of the parking lot or small side road under the bridge if using the road. Would not need to close anything if using the walking track.
Location 02 — Under S. 1st St Bridge
River and bridge pylons in background; pull onto dirt or road. If road we’d need to shut down just the portion under the bridge.
Location 03 — Railway Bridge (South Bank)
Under active railway bridge. Possible locations to park the car in a parking lot (may need to close the lot?) and in the dirt on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail.
Location 04 — Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge
Bridge does have pylons that can be unlocked, but this may be for golf carts. Is this rated for cars? Might be a bit cramped for good car shots? Options for city and river in background, or railway bridge.
Location 05 — Hike and Bike Trail Spiral (North Bank)
In the spiral entrance/exit from the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail to the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge there is a nice spot with a garden backdrop. Easily possible to get shots of the top of the car without drones (which are disallowed in the park) from the top of the spiral.
Location 06 ― Railway Bridge (North Bank)
Would need to close off Electric Drive. Views of bridge, underpass, and Seaholm Power Plant.
Location 07 — Seaholm (plaza)
Views of the Seaholm power plant and boiler nine in the background.
Location 08 — Seaholm (front lawn)
Views of Seaholm in the background. Would need to bring ramps to get model onto the dirt.
Location 09 — Doug Sahm Hill Summit
Could we even get a car up here? Path is pretty narrow and there’s not a huge amount of room to move about on the top. Great city views in the background.
Location 10 — Palmer Events Center (roundabout)
Views here aren’t great unless we could get the Palmer Pond in the background.
Location 11 — Palmer Events Center (front porch)
Backgrounds still aren’t great here, but the wooden beams and giant ceiling fans are neat.
Location 12 — Long Center (front lawn)
Great views in all directions from the rotunda. City or the Long Center for the Performing Arts itself.
Location 13 — Long Center (box office roundabout)
Views aren’t all that great, but it could be interesting and is easy.
